Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain

T-Ball

T-Ball ended about 2 weeks ago and I have been meaning to post these pictures and a video of him playing. Eric enjoyed playing it for the most part but a couple of times commented to me that he didn't like the games because they were too long. I would have to say his favorite part of the whole thing was the snacks he got after the games/practices.

Some funnies!

The other day while we were sanding and painting at my mom's house, little Eric came out and saw the hammer that had been brought out. He looked at it and told me that he wanted to build something. I kept trying to ignore him but he kept asking. He then said that he wanted me to build and wanted me to build a house. He kept asking and again i kept ignoring. He kept asking and finally I told him that I didn't know how to build a house. He then said to me while pointing at my mom's house, "Just look at Grandma's house and you will know how to build it."

Little Eric was in my parent's garage and saw my mom's bike that had a mirror hooked on the handle bars. He then said
Eric (while pointing at the bike): This has a mirror on it, it must be a motorcycle
Me: No it's not a motorcycle, it's a bike
Eric: Well it has this mirror on it so it has to be a motorcycle

Yesterday when we got home we had to run by Wal-MArt to get some milk and fruit and some veggies. As we were walking into Wal-Mart little Eric says to me that we aren't in Grandma's world anymore; we are in our world.
The 7 hour drive to him must have felt like going to a whole new world. :)

Once we got the dishes set up in the dish cabinet (see previous post) little Eric was all about fixing us tea. He kept calling me and my parents up one by one to have tea (even though i kept telling him that we don't drink tea; let's pretend that it is hot chocolate. Then he kept calling it hot chocolate tea), pizza, apple sauce, and cookies. He did it a couple times monday night and then made sure he fed us tuesday morning before my parents went to work and we left. It was very cute.

Memories

Today my mom and I took a walk down memory lane. She had pulled out an old dish cabinet that she had played with and that we had played with when we were younger. We sanded and repainted it, then set it up in the toy room with dishes. It made me think of the good ole days. :)

I'm ready to play!

While we had the paint out we also pulled out some old doll bunk beds that my mom had given to me and Becca when we were younger and gave them a new coat of paint. They also look as good as new.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers!
Today is just like a regular day to me. I had to get up and make breakfast, I had to get up and get little Eric ready. By the time church was over I was feeling alittle discouraged (I know - it's not even like a real holiday. Get over it.) So I had called my mom after church to wish her a Happy Mother's Day and she was asking how I was and how my day was. She could tell I was feeling alittle blue so she mentioned for me to have Eric make me lunch. She said it would be a great teaching tool to show what mothers day is about. I thought it was a great idea and Eric thought it was an even better idea. He made me the best PB&J sandwich I have ever had. He did tell me after we had lunch that he wanted to learn how to make a ham and cheese sandwich.
Later this evening I asked Eric what he was going to make me for dinner. We had talked earlier about having tacos so he knew we were having that. He told me that he was too little and didn't know how to make tacos. so I had to cook dinner but I sure won't forget about the best sandwich ever.

I'm not the only one!

Most of you know about a year ago I found a snake in my house. It was horrible and it took me a while to get over it. Well anyways Becca (my sister) called me yesterday to let me know that she found a snake not in her house but in her front yard eating a frog (i know - gross!) So i just had to report that I am not the only one who has to deal with it. :)

To be young again

Me and my friend (who has 2 kids) decided that we wanted to buy a slip-n-slide for the kids - just to give them something to do. So we bought it, got it all set up and the kids started playing. Well they evidently have never played on a slip-in-slide before because they would run half way down and then finally fall and slide the rest of the way. So i decided to get out and show them how to really do it. IT was alot of fun - you just feel hitting the ground more when you are an adult then when you are a child. But Eric loves playing on it and every day asks if he can play on the slip-in-slide. I hope I haven't created a monster! :)

It made me laugh!

I was uploading my pictures today and saw this again. I was laughing when I took the picture and seeing it again made me laugh some more. As I was looking I started to think about how prepared and safe he is. He is riding his bike with a helment - safety first. But then I guess he was concerned that he might ride his bike into a lake (think back on The Office when Michael drove into the lake because the GPS told him to turn right. Funniest episode ever! Anyways). So he must wear his bathing suit and goggles and can't wear any shoes for fear they might get wet. The kid has gone crazy! :)
