Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain

Christmas 2011

Again this Christmas is very bittersweet; we are getting ready to leave one of our favorite places. I realized that I didn't get many pictures but maybe that is because the whole holiday season I had moving on my brain more than Christmas. It was like the year we got married; it was "hurry and clean up Christmas! We have moves coming in 2 days." I'm just glad that we were able to celebrate in our house with our stuff. Enjoy the very few pictures that I got from that morning.

I love the look of excitement in his face!

Our Last Christmas in Hawaii - 2011

2011 brought us to the end of our tour in Hawaii. Being there at Christmas is different because well it just doesn't feel like Christmas. I decided that we were going to do as mjch as we could before we left. Downtown at one of the city buildings there are a bunch of decorations inside and out; Santa even visits. Thought I would show a few pictures from the Honolulu City Lights.

Just had to post this picture; this is how Santa rolls in HI; shorts and sandals. :)

Halloween 2011

This year (well really last year; just pretend it is 2011) for Halloween Eric decided he wanted to be Captain America. WE actually found a pretty nice costume at Target that wasn't too expensive. Whatever he decides to be he is still pretty cute though.
We went Trick or Treating with our friends the Baker's. Eric and Logan had been in the same class in Kindergarten and even though they went to seperate schools after that they still stayed pretty good friends. Of course they had a great time and came home with quite a loot of candy. It is sad that there are going to be no more warm Halloween's for us! Here are a few pictures from that night.

4th of July

We were so happy that Eric made it home in time to celebrate the 4th of July. This is one of my favorite holidays and I especially like to celebrate it with my husband. The morning started with the 5K race that they do here on post. I didn't do my best and really struggled through. But I finished in a good time so I am happy with that. After the 5K race, there was a kids 1 mile fun run. Little Eric ran in it with his friend Robbie. In the afternoon we had Tim and Mary Ann over for a cook out and then headed over to the field for the fireworks. It is the same thing we do every year but I look forward to it every year!

Easter 2011

Easter for us was like any other Easter. The night before we dyed easter eggs and than Sunday we dressed in our new Sunday best. I was able to spend Easter dinner with the Rees' and the Cox's. It was a pleasant Easter but sure wish big Eric have been here with us.

Christmas 2010

Just when I thought I was all done with last year and could finally start blogging about things happening this year I realized I hadn't posted any pictures from Christmas. Santa tried not to spoil too much this year (he must have know we had to get everything back to Hawaii). Little Eric had told me earlier in December that Santa didn't get him anything that he wanted last year (what a brat!). I think Santa did a better job this year and got things that Eric wanted.

Christmas Eve 2010

When we were younger we would always act out the Christmas story. When we got older (and too cool to do it) we would sit down as a family and read the story. Now that the grandkids are getting older, they get to act out the story. It is so nice to be able to carry on traditions with little Eric that I did as a kid. This year Eric was Joeseph, Jordan was Mary, Emily was the Angel, and Adam was the 3 wiseman. Enjoy!

Another tradition that I have started with little Eric is getting a new pair of pajamas every Christmas - this year he got a new pair of Lego Star Wars jammies.

Halloween 2010

Since my mom was coming out right before Halloween she said that she would make little Eric's costume. After going back and forth on some ideas and with some persuasion, we finally decided on Batman and I think we made a great decision - the costume turned out GREAT! This year we went to a work party where they had trunk or treat, games, and food and then the next night did the church trunk or treat. Little Eric had a blast and got lots of candy so he was happy Here a few pictures from our 2 parties.

Veteran's Day Parade 2010

My boss owns a train that he entered to be in the Wahiawa Veteran's Day Parade. He then asked me to get together some families in our ward that had husband's deployed so I went to work and found some. The kids LOVED it and had a great time! Thanks Xtreme Fun Rentals for a great morning!
