About 2 months ago my twin asked me to set up her blog because I love doing that kind of stuff. I said sure just let me know what background she wanted and pictures and all that stuff. I got it set up and then she never posted on it. Well this week when she was home I forced her to sit down and post. So she did it. If you want to see Becca's blog check it out here. Enjoy!!

It's a Winter Wonderland
Today we left to fly to Massachusetts to visit with Eric's family for a couple days. We were afraid that we weren't going to get here because of weather. Of course starting this morning there was a winter weather warning. We flew from Fayetteville to Atlanta and Atlanta to Hartford Connecticut. All of our flights were on time but as we got closer to Hartford the weather started getting bad. There was some problems with the lights on the runway and also problems with whatever thing they use in poor visibility. So we ended up circling Hartford for about 45 minutes waiting for all the problems to get fixed. We thought we were going to have to go to Newark to refuel. IT is a good thing though because when we finally did land we noticed on the boards that almost all the flights going anywhere in the northeast were canceled. So if we went to Newark there probably would have been a chance that we would not have been able to get out.
So we have gotten here and it is COLD and snowy! Little Eric has loved it. That is all he talked about was getting home and going out to play in the snow. The snow is dry so it isn't the best to make snowballs or a snowman. Although when I asked little Eric if he built a snowman he said no they didn't because they didn't have a hat for his head, a carrot for his nose, or raisins for his eyes. Crazy kid!!! Tonight it is supposed to get below 0 so it is going to be might cold. I guess I just get to snuggle up next to Eric - he is going to love that!!! When we get back home I will get some pictures posted of my boys playing in the snow.
Another note from today. I hate to use airplane bathrooms but since we had been circling for 45 minutes I couldn't wait any longer. So I decided I was just going to have to suck it up and deal with it. When I got into the bathroom you could clearly smell that somebody had smoked in there. I didn't really think about it - just thought wow it stinks. I got done, went back to my seat and didn't think anything of it. I had just done my seat belt up when the flight attendant came up to me and asked me to come to the back of the plane with him (just a side note - all of the flight attendents were male. I have never been on a flight like that). I knew exactly what it was about. He told me he wasn't going to do anything but wanted me to tell the truth and asked if I had smoked in the bathroom. I assured him that it wasn't me, it smelled like that when I got in there. I told him he could smell my breath and clothes if he wanted to. He said okay and sent me back to my seat. Well then he came over the intercom and informed the person who had smoked in the bathroom that it was very dangerous and you could face up to a $20,000 fine. Well I'm sure that everybody on the plane thought that i was the culprit. He apologized again as I was getting off the plane - I think he felt bad. He was just doing his job. So that was my excitement for the day. :)

Meadow Lights
There is a place about 45 minutes from here called Meadow Lights. It is a big field where somebody has gone and set up all these Christmas lights. They have a little train that you get on and they drive you all through the field to look at the lights. My sister Sarah and her family were going so they invited me to go along. It was a lot of fun and the kids had a blast. I'm thinking about going again when Eric gets home. We shall see.

A New Tradition
From now on I'm going to be starting a new Christmas tradition - decorating gingerbread houses. My mom bought houses for Eric and Marcus and a tree for Jordan. They kids all had a blast and the kitchen was to show for it (I should have taken before and after pictures). Eric and Marcus had a great time decorating and Jordan just wanted to eat the candy. IT was alot of fun and someting we will start doing every year.

A Dickens Christmas
Every Friday after Christmas here in Fayetteville they do what they call A Dickens Christmas. It happens in downtown. Some people dress up that that period of clothing. When you get there they give you candles and they they have a parade down one of the streets to the market house (a cool building that was used for i can't remember what back in the day. I should remember all this history! :)~ ) At the market house they have the lighting of the tree, singing, and then fireworks. It was a lot of fun and puts you in the spirit of Christmas. Here are just a few pictures.

Thanksgiving 2008
We had a good Thanksgiving this year. I moved home to my mom's the Monday before Thanksgiving so I was able to get settled before all the food prep started. My Grandpa came out from Utah. It was great to see him and spend time with him. It had been a while since I have seen him. Eric had a great time playing with Grandpa. The food was delicious and it was nice to be with family. Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving and from the weekend that Grandpa was here

Update
So I thought I would come back to the blogging world. I'm starting to miss it. And I'm starting to forget things that I wanted to blog about. I thought that was a sure sign that I needed to get off my lazy butt! I do have a bunch of things to blog about so don't get too overwhelmed.
Things are going good. Eric should be home around Monday so we are SUPER excited about that. We were so afraid that he wouldn't be home by Christmas but it looks like we should be safe. He is ready to be home - he is so tired of sitting around doing nothing!
This past weekend we went back down to GA for Eric's brother's graduation with his masters degree. Eric's parents and most of his siblings were there so it was nice to spend time with them and Eric got to see his cousins. I just wish Eric could have been there. We even managed to make it down to Phenix City for a night and spend some time with friends. I do miss my friends down there. They were all trying to convince me to stay longer. If it wasn't so close to Christmas and if I didn't have a lot to do I might have taken them up on their offer. So now Christmas is almost here and I'm finishing up the last of the shopping. We are getting excited because Eric will be home but also 2 of my sister's are coming here for Christmas. It will be fun to have almost everybody here but it will also be sad because my brother and his wife won't be here. Mark and Keyla - we will miss you!
I've been meaning to write about my whole moving experience because it was quite interesting. When you are in the military and you move you can choose to pack and move yourself or you can choose to have packers come do it all for you. Because we are going to Hawaii we had no choice - we had to have packers come. Now that doesn't bother me because I HATE to pack. In the past Eric always dealt with the packers and I would just leave for the day with little Eric. Well since I was the only one here I had to deal with it all. It makes for a very long and boring day. Because of how much stuff we had they were coming to pack on one day and load on the next day. Well they showed up that 1st day about 9:30. It was 2 ladies and 1 guy who came to pack. The guy was the 1st one to the door and he introduced himself. Now I wish I could have gotten a picture of him. He was probably about 70 years old, black (which makes no difference - just trying to paint a picture), and had I think only 2 of his bottom teeth. HE comes in and introduces himself. I can hardly understand him. They only thing i get out of it was "everybody just calls me "Sleepy". I said it was nice to meet him all the while thinking what have I got myself in to. They start, Sleepy takes the kitchen, one of the ladies start in my bedroom and the other lady starts in little Eric's room. I sit all day and read my book and try not to fall asleep. The afternoon slowly goes by and then they start talking about if they will get done in time - I guess they had to be out of there by 5. By this time I realize that Sleepy is just getting done with the kitchen while the 2 ladies have pretty much done the rest of the house. Now alot of you don't know how big my kitchen is but I promise it isn't big enough to take 4 hours to pack up. Then sleepy and one of the ladies start playfully arguing with each other (I guess they work with each other almost everyday). They are arguing about whether it is going to get done, to stop what she was doing and come help out in the garage, they would both mumble about how crazy the other one was. It was quite entertaining but I did want to yell at them if they would stop arguing with each other and work then they would get done on time. Needless to say they didn't get the garage finished and they didn't get any of the inventory done. Sleepy said that it was okay he would just do it in the morning. (Sorry this is turning into a way longer story then expected.) They next morning the movers show up about the same time. Sleepy is there with 3 other guys. Well since Sleepy didn't get the inventory done the day before he had to do it before they could load anything on the truck. I had the thought that they were never going to get this done if Sleepy was in charge of inventory. There was alot of sitting around while waiting for Sleepy. Then of course one of the 1st things they put on the truck was my couch and my chairs were soon to follow so i had to sit on a folding chair and freeze my butt of most of the day (of course it was a pretty chilly day and i didn't keep my heat on because the doors were open). Anyways - to make this extremely long story not even longer it took Sleepy ALL day to inventory, they did get done about 5pm, and thought they were going to have to call for some more crates (they put everything in these big crates at your house and seal them up and put a tag on them so we know that if the seal is broken somebody has gotten in our stuff) but they managed to fit everything in. My house was soon all empty. It was kind of depressing!
Some other side notes about that day, Sleepy asked if he could use my bathroom (which didn't bother me. They were at my house all day) but he decided to take a dump in my bathroom and I heard it. It was quite disgusting!!! Then one of the other guys took a dump - I didn't hear it but I thought maybe he had fallen in because he was in there for like 10 minutes. The other interesting story that actually almost gave me a heartache was they almost dropped my piano on its back. I was watching them move it and they went to go and put it on the piano dolly but one of the guys didn't have a very good hold on it and I saw it falling backwards. Thankfully the other guy managed to stop it from continuing to fall backwards. I could just see it falling, hitting my wall and putting a big hole in the wall, then falling on its back scratching up the floor and breaking into a million different pieces. They did manage to get it out of the house and on the truck in one piece. We'll see what it looks like when it gets to Hawaii. It was quite the interesting 2 days and I hope that I don't have to be the one to sit at the house again. Eric can have that job back!!
Because I don't have enough going on right now I decided to go back to school. I'm doing all online classes through the University of Phoenix. I'm going for a Bachelors in Information Technology with an emphasis in Web Design (I think that is what it is called). It isn't too bad. University of Phoenix does it so you have one class for 5 weeks and then have a week off, then start my next class for 5 weeks. So I'm only having to concentrate on one class but I'm still considered full time. I'm not really enjoying my class right now because it is Skills for Professional Development - one of those pointless classes that teach you what kind of learner you are, how to write papers etc. I have taken a class like this so I just hate it. But we are into the middle of week 3 and then starting Tuesday we have 2 weeks off so it will be a nice break! Speaking of school - I need to go and get some homework done. Check back throughout the day and I know I will have many more posts.
I am back in business!!! :)

I Promise I'm Not Dead!
I promise I haven't fallen off the face of this earth. I did in fact make in to NC and have had a great week and just haven't felt up to posting anything. Thanksgiving was good - I just really missed Eric. I'm just ready for him to be home! My grandpa came here for Thanksgiving so that has been real nice to spend time with him. Tomorrow he goes home and my mom goes back to work so it will kind of get back to normal. I keep thinking that soon it's time to go back home. :( It has been really nice to be here here but after tomorrow when things calm down I'm sure it will hit me that I don't live in Alabama. I miss my friends ALOT. I'm so thankful for them and all that they did in helping me move. I couldn't have done it myself.
But I just wanted to let you all know that I haven't died. I have alot more to post but of course don't feel up to it tonight. Once I get my mind working and figure out all that I need/want to post I'll actually do it. :)
