I just had to post these pictures that Eric sent to me today. They just touched me heart.
The other day they went out on a mission and of course came across some kids. They gave the kids soccer balls but the kids didn't know what to do with them. Eric said that they kept trying to use them as volleyballs. So the soccer player that Eric is just had to get down and show them how to play soccer.

I just have to add
I just thought of this today when I was talking to Becca and we were talking about little Eric and his hockey trophy. He shows everybody who comes here his trophy and actually thinks that it is him. He tells everybody that it is him with a bobble head. Just thought that was too cute and had to add it.

Mom - you would be so proud!
For those of you who don't know I HATE to clean. I always have and I always will. When I was younger, when there was work to be done I would somehow disappear and go hide out somewhere so I wouldn't have to do work. Then I got married to an amazing man who actually cleans. I don't know if he likes to do it or just feel like he has to do it because his wonderful wife doesn't. :) Anyways - I just had to document that I actually cleaned my house from top to bottom. I swept the kitchen and bathroom floors and mopped them - on my hands and knees. Yes that is right I said I mopped my floors on my hands and knees. Now I must confess I am having book club at my house tomorrow so I needed to clean it. Plus it was actually getting alittle frightening to me. :) Anyways I had to post some pictures for those who really know me to show that yes I do know how to clean - I just choose not to.
It really is nice having a clean house - maybe I should look into a housekeeper! :)

I'm a mean mommy and other revelations
Somewhere little Eric has heard the word mean and has figured out what it actually means (to be honest I think I had said it one day just joking around). Anyways this past week I have discovered that I am in fact a mean Mommy. I think everyday this past week little Eric has told me that "You are a mean mommy!" Usually he has said this because I have told him that he can't do something. I might be mean but I'm the only mommy you've got. :)
Some other funny stories -
The other day as we were driving somewhere little Eric asked me where bears live. I go on to tell him that depending on the type of bear depends on where they live. We talked about polar bears living in cold by the water and grizzly or black bears living usually in woods. He then tells me that penguins live in cold water. I told him that he was right. He then informed me that when the penguins get cold they go to their igloos. I then asked him where he knew all this information. He then told me, "I just know it Mommy."
A different day as we are sitting at a stoplight waiting to turn left (the light was red) little Eric told me that we couldn't go because the little man hadn't changed the light. I asked him what he had said to make sure that I had heard him right. He told me again that the little man hadn't changed the light so we couldn't go. According to him there are little men who live in the stoplights and change the lights for us.
Oh to be young again.....

Eric's new hobby
Last weekend we went to an event here on post and little Eric has discovered he has a new hobby - jumping on the velcro wall. Unfortunally the suit he was wearing was kind of big and he is still really little so he didn't get very high but he sure did have a great time.

Eric's Update
I know that it has been quite some time since I last posted. Don't worry I am still living. It has been a pretty slow last few weeks. The big thing lately is that we traded in our horrible humvee trucks for some new very large more mine resistant vehicles. This will make rolling around here less nerve racking. I will send some pictures another day. Other than that I have been taking a college class which is going fine and here in a few weeks I will start my travels home for R&R. I am looking forward to that very much. We are now starting to get into some more missions which will lead to a larger mission soon. It is still frustrating to work with the Afghans. They still don't want to do things for themselves and they are always going on leave.
