Today we left to fly to Massachusetts to visit with Eric's family for a couple days. We were afraid that we weren't going to get here because of weather. Of course starting this morning there was a winter weather warning. We flew from Fayetteville to Atlanta and Atlanta to Hartford Connecticut. All of our flights were on time but as we got closer to Hartford the weather started getting bad. There was some problems with the lights on the runway and also problems with whatever thing they use in poor visibility. So we ended up circling Hartford for about 45 minutes waiting for all the problems to get fixed. We thought we were going to have to go to Newark to refuel. IT is a good thing though because when we finally did land we noticed on the boards that almost all the flights going anywhere in the northeast were canceled. So if we went to Newark there probably would have been a chance that we would not have been able to get out.
So we have gotten here and it is COLD and snowy! Little Eric has loved it. That is all he talked about was getting home and going out to play in the snow. The snow is dry so it isn't the best to make snowballs or a snowman. Although when I asked little Eric if he built a snowman he said no they didn't because they didn't have a hat for his head, a carrot for his nose, or raisins for his eyes. Crazy kid!!! Tonight it is supposed to get below 0 so it is going to be might cold. I guess I just get to snuggle up next to Eric - he is going to love that!!! When we get back home I will get some pictures posted of my boys playing in the snow.
Another note from today. I hate to use airplane bathrooms but since we had been circling for 45 minutes I couldn't wait any longer. So I decided I was just going to have to suck it up and deal with it. When I got into the bathroom you could clearly smell that somebody had smoked in there. I didn't really think about it - just thought wow it stinks. I got done, went back to my seat and didn't think anything of it. I had just done my seat belt up when the flight attendant came up to me and asked me to come to the back of the plane with him (just a side note - all of the flight attendents were male. I have never been on a flight like that). I knew exactly what it was about. He told me he wasn't going to do anything but wanted me to tell the truth and asked if I had smoked in the bathroom. I assured him that it wasn't me, it smelled like that when I got in there. I told him he could smell my breath and clothes if he wanted to. He said okay and sent me back to my seat. Well then he came over the intercom and informed the person who had smoked in the bathroom that it was very dangerous and you could face up to a $20,000 fine. Well I'm sure that everybody on the plane thought that i was the culprit. He apologized again as I was getting off the plane - I think he felt bad. He was just doing his job. So that was my excitement for the day. :)
