4th Of July 2009

We had a good 4th of July this year. It was a little sad because my sister and family were supposed to be here. They were flying military space available and were waiting on a flight (which they ended up never getting a flight. :( )
That morning there was a 5K and a kids 1 mile fun run. I decided to run (well I should say run/walk) and then little Eric was going to run in the fun run. I finished which was amazing because I hadn't run in like 4 weeks and it was extremely hot. I'm glad I did it though; I felt very accomplished.
We then just hung out at home for the rest of the afternoon and about 4pm went up to the field where they were having all the festivities. This year Schofield Barracks had the band Kansas. I only recognized 1 song but that was okay. Some friends came up and joined us and we just hung out until the fireworks. The fireworks show was pretty good.
I'm thankful to live in the great free nation. I'm so thankful to my husband and all the others who have served this great country.
