Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain

I'm Hooked!

Every since I was younger I have always wanted to learn how to surf. Now that we live here I have no excuse. A couple of weeks ago I got a free coupon from the Outdoor Recreation office here to use for one of their activities. Since I have always wanted to try surfing I thought it was a great opportunity. It was SO much fun but a lot of hard work. I did get up a couple of times but I was only up a couple of seconds I fell off. I had so much fun. This is something I will be doing a lot more of. You can rent surfboards here through Outdoor Rec so I'm sure I'll will take a lot of advantage of that. Here are a few pictures to document my day.

Getting some instruction on how to stand up
More instruction
Heading out
I'm on the board - now I have to get out there
Yeah...I'm on the board
I'm way out there waiting for a wave
Still waiting

After I got done, little Eric wanted to practice his snorkeling. He has been practicing in the bathtub so he is getting better but he still freaks out a lot

Helping him snorkel

One of the coolest thing about this beach is there are seals that just go swimming by. We saw 2 of them swimming by but my friend has been there when they have been up sunbathing in the sand. It is so neat!

What beach is that? The kids would love to go see seals swimming close up. I haven't tried surfing yet. I am too lazy lol.
